Card1’s mission is to deliver the most simple, convenient, secure and rewarding payments experience possible for consumers. Securing all of a consumer's financial accounts and transactions is a core objective.

Randy Smith is the founder, president and chief executive officer of Card1, Inc., linking consumers’ bank cards into their digital wallet of choice in the cloud. Randy is a serial entrepreneur and innovator in the payments and retail industries. Randy’s last company, MobilePayUSA, introduced ground-breaking mobile payments technology from the stage of TechCrunch Disrupt San Francisco, in 2010.

Beyond the role of CEO, Randy also oversees strategy, product research and development and marketing.

As a recognized thought-leader in the payments space for the past 5 years, Randy has served the payments community by providing forward-looking insights into solving the big problems the industry faces today.

Randy’s journey into the payments industry began in 1996 shortly after he sold his company Good2Go Restaurant Delivery to Restaurants On the Run (recently acquired in 2015 by GrubHub NYSE:GRUB)) and came up with his initial vision for a universal payment card. At this time the Blockbuster gift card had just stormed out of the gate selling 50-million dollars in gift cards during it’s 1995 holiday season debut. Loyalty and gift cards were still fairly new and also a hot commodity. Randy envisioned that a universal payment card would offer the convenience that would free people from the need to carry a wallet and a dozen or more cards.

Randy earned a degree in Business Administration from Azusa Pacific University in 1991.

Rich DeNardis

Advisor

Rich DeNardis joins Card1 as a seasoned payments executive. He was Founder & CEO of Cardley, a card-linked loyalty and coupon platform and Savor, an online deal service that used social data to provide targeted offers. Prior to entering the early stage arena, Rich was a private equity investor at Lake Capital and GTCR, where he evaluated investments and worked with portfolio companies in the payment processing, credit card issuing and loyalty industries.

Rich served on and observed the board of numerous payment, technology and marketing services companies including Syniverse Technologies, Palladian Financial and Hyper Marketing Inc. Rich began his career as an Analyst at Morgan Stanley. He received a M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School and a B.B.A. from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.

William Coats

Advisor

William serves as an advisor to company to ensure that Card1’s products and services are well designed and curated to fit well within the financial services ecosystem. William is a senior product development and project management innovator in the payments industry. William currently is the VP of Product Management for Green Dot Corporation (NYSE: GDOT). Recent examples of his product management expertise are Walmart ‘s MoneyCard Reloadable Prepaid card program and GoBank.com.

William recently served as an advisor to DoubleBeam, Inc. which was acquired by Verifone (NYSE: PAY) in 2015.

William graduated from Azusa Pacific University in 1991 earning a degree in Business Administration. He returned to Azusa Pacific to earn a Masters degree in, Business & Organizational Development (1995-1997). He complete is formal education at The George Washington University, in the university’s Executive Education Program, studying Product Development, Product Management, Project Management and Development.
